Hello family and friends of Berto Ortega. Thank you for your patience, in waiting for news, for the opportunity to celebrate my uncle's life. Our family has been in contact with Will Benton who has been working with others from the art community. There are two events coming up, that are open to the public, where you can join us in celebrating Berto's life. First: Sunday, September 29th, at 5pm. Please join us on the grounds at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, in Winter Park. This event is a potluck gathering. Please bring an appetizer/finger food style dish, along with a beverage to share. For this event, we are urging those who are willing, to bring their Berto original art works in order to share with others at the event. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to see how many lives Berto touched. Second: October 4th, at Faith Arts Village of Orlando from 5pm - 9pm. My uncle was a regular participant in this monthly event. For this occasion, his studio will be opened and some of his work will be displayed in honor of his memory. As always, this event will have food trucks as well as the opportunity to meet other artists, who show at FAVO, and to see their works. Our family hopes that you can join us for one or both events, so that we can have to opportunity to celebrate his life with you. Also: please be on the lookout tomorrow, Friday the 20th, in the Orlando Sentinel where there will be an article about my uncle in the artist column. Thank you
